MotorAid Ltd T/A FIX Auto Basildon is seeking a skilled Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their team as an Estimating Claims Handler. The role requires previous experience and involves updating customers on vehicle repairs, liaising with insurers and internal staff, and managing job details in the company’s management system. MotorAid Ltd T/A FIX Auto Basildon are looking to recruit a fully skilled Vehicle damage assessor to work alongside current Estimator and Claims Handler in the capacity as a Estimating Claims Handler.
*We are recruiting for:*
Due to our current restructuring we are currently seeking a talented, professional and self motivated Bodyshop Advisor / Claims Handler.
Previous experience in this role or similar is essential.
*Key responsibilities and skills required:*
* Be responsible for updating our customers during the full repair process of their vehicle, by liaising directly with internal staff including but not limited to the Workshop Manager, Front of House Manager and Operations Manager.
* Liaising with insurers and customers, by telephone, email and in person, overseeing the smooth running of the repair process from start to finish.
* To load job details onto our management system (full training will be provided)
* Maintaining the BSI audit files to the required industry standards
* To complete general administration duties as and when required
* To maximise customer awareness of all available Bodyshop and Retailer Services
* To the highest level of customer care and satisfaction at all times
* To maintain excellent standards of administration
* Be willing to undertake any necessary training
The applicant must be able to work under pressure and have the ability to create accurate estimates using Audatex and or GT Motive using Manufactures/Thatcham methods as required.
A VDA / ATA qualification would be required or the applicant must agree to achieve this qualification. Current Audatex Certification required please send a copy with application.
*The Role:*
* To inspect damaged vehicles and assess the full extent of the damage sustained, assess the cost of repair and time scales.
* Liaising with insurers and customers, by telephone, email and in person, overseeing the smooth running of the repair process from start to finish.
* Ensure all job cards are completed corrected correctly.
* To liaise with the Bodyshop workshop controller and the Bodyshop Manager in respect of any quality issue.
* To liaise with Parts Manager in the control of ordering and delivery of parts required.
* Be able to complete all estimates to the required standard and ensuring work provider SLA’s are met.
* Be able to maximise overall estimate profits inline with company expectations and agreed targets.
* To pair up complete repairs/job card ready for invoice.
* Ensure customer updates are carried out in a regular and professional manner at all times both to the client and the work provider.
* Maintaining the BSI audit files to the required industry standards
* To complete general administration duties as and when required
* To maximise customer awareness of all available Bodyshop and Retailer Services
* To ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction at all times
* To maintain excellent standards of administration
*You will demonstrate:*
* Strong organisational skills.

* Handle all vehicles with due care and attention ensuring that customer care/satisfaction is maintained at all times.
* Awareness of and adhere to all the housekeeping and health and safety regulations.
*You will ideally have:*
* Experience working as VDA and front of House Claims Handler is essential.
* Previous commercial vehicle estimating preferred but not essential.
