Speciality Doctor

Location: Preston

As a Speciality Doctor, you will become an integral part of a dedicated medical team, working closely with Consultant Psychiatrists and other Multi-Disciplinary Team members. This role provides a unique opportunity to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge, with access to a diverse array of clinical practices that extend beyond those typically available within the NHS.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced consultants and clinicians, allowing for professional growth and development in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient admissions and discharges
• Oversee day-to-day patient care on the ward, including risk assessments, MDT liaison, outcome measurements, and physical health reviews
• Conduct prompt mental health assessments, compile reports, and produce clinical summaries using our electronic records system (Carenotes)
• Participate in audit, research, quality and performance management, and other clinical and professional activities

Qualifications and Skills:

• Medical degree (MB ChB or equivalent)
• Full GMC registration with licence to practice
• Proficient ICT skills for electronic record-keeping and report generation
